Director of Operations - Fabrication Experience 
Our client is looking for a Director of Operations that has a proven track record in a fabrication “job shop”.  The successful candidate will also have proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and be a strong collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring and coaching his team, while holding them accountable.

  • 10+ years of experience in Fabrication with Metals and/or PVC
  • 5+ years of experience in a Leadership role and in developing people.
  • 10+ years of experience in Operations
  • 5 years demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of manufacturing best practices
  • Must have experience and success with positive people practices and creating a culture of trust and engagement.
  • Must be highly emotionally intelligent 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence people at all levels in the organization
  • Must be results and data driven.
EDUCATION: 4 year degree strongly preferred, minimum AA 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Directs manufacturing operations through the development, execution and continuous improvement of lean strategies to exceed metrics in People, Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of people resource strategies in assigned value streams according to our strategic objectives
  • Develops, implements, and sustains lean manufacturing practices
  • Contributes to manufacturing operational strategies by providing information, analysis, and recommendations to peer group & senior management
  • Establishes functional objectives to support organizational objectives
  • Establishes a manufacturing operational strategy for value stream by evaluating manufacturing trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies
  • Develops strategy for operations through;
    • Production planning of manufacturing requirements for assigned areas
    • Resource allocation and line capacity - flexible workforce
    • Measurement and analysis of results
    • Developing necessary countermeasures
    • Minimizing variances - maximum efficiency
    • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting
    • Audits production output for compliance to customer requirements
