Must be able to train and work with manufacturing to improve processes and methods. Must be able to meet guidelines, deadlines and work well with all levels of management. This position requires strong technical skills as well as the soft skills needed to influence and lead. This individual would be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day EHS functions for several Business Units. Midwest based Company is seeking to appoint an EHS Manager for its West Coast Operations. This position requires strong technical skills as well as the soft skills needed to influence and lead. This individual would be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day EHS functions for several Business Units located in multiple States.A Midwest based Company is seeking to appoint an EHS Manager for its West Coast Operations. This individual would be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day EHS functions for several Business Units located in multiple States.Other responsibilities as listed below:
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
• Help drive and develop EHS strategies in a quick paced and constantly changing environment.
• Responsible for assisting in the development, coordination & the implementation and maintenance of an Environmental, Health and Safety Program.
• Responsible to help draft/update and recommend Environmental, Health and Safety manuals.
• Conduct or provide for Environmental, Health and Safety related training.
• Conduct facility and site inspections, job hazards analysis and other evaluations to identify hazards, potential risks and waste.
• Represents Company in inspections conducted by OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Conducts post-accident investigation. Develop and chair a safety committee. Make recommendations for changes in equipment and or processes to correct or improve. Make recommendations to managers as required and assist in implementing appropriate corrective actions.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of employees
 
 
Qualifications/Skills:

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5- 8 years’ experience in environmental, safety and health within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with OSHA, EPA, DOT Compliance, etc.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience.
