Fabrication Estimator - Automotive
Our client is looking for a Fabricated Components Estimator with automotive experience. This position will develop and maintain cost estimating programs for new Fabrication business. This is a great company to work for with career growth opportunities and good benefits.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of related Estimating experience in an Industrial, Manufacturing and Fabrication focused work environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in Metal Fabrication
  • 3+ years of Automotive Experience 
  • Highly skilled knowledge of:
    • Machining processes and tooling requirements,
    • Knowledge of extrusion industry and aluminum in general and
    • Ability to read various types of customer drawings.
  • Functional Knowledge of the following are required:
    • GD&T knowledge and
    • Quoting Automotive product
    • Understanding of PPAP 
  • Extensive experience working directly with Customers
  • Must have passion around safety.
  • Strong computer skills, excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills required. 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Include:
  • Negotiates pricing alongside management and setup programs with outside vendors in order to supply customers fabricated services.
  • Creates profitable customer quotations
  • Reviews customer requirements and insures quotations meet customer expectations
  • Communicates any customer specification which cannot be met and resolves those issues in tandem with engineering, production and quality
  • Acts as a liaison between Sales, the Customer, Extrusion and Fabrication in order to make the selling of fabricated parts a straightforward transaction
  • Provides technical assistance and support to regional manager, inside sales and customers for fabricated parts
  • Develops standardized workflow & monitors and tracks production short interval control times against quotation.
  • Works with Engineering & production floor to develop solutions to maximize efficiency and profitability
  • Conduct new business review meetings to align fabrication, extrusion requirement and determine any need for capital investment
  • Prepares part setup package, that includes but is not limited to, customer prints, standards, quotes, process notes, quality and packaging requirements and submit package to setup planner once customer order materializes
  • Maintain estimations KPI’s up to date
  • Other duties as assigned.
