Hydraulic Cylinder Technician
Shop Location in Eighty-Four, PA

The technician is responsible for testing and repairing various hydraulic cylinder components.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience  working on hydraulics/pneumatics components and/or machine shop experience
  • Basic mechanical abilities
  • Ability to use various tools for measurement (micrometer, id micrometer, and calipers)
  • Able to tear down open and closed loop pumps
  • Possess a common understanding of cylinders and their operations
  • Demonstrates the ability to safely operate the equipment (hoist, fork trucks, and lifts) used to maneuver hydraulic or pneumatic units
  • Possess an understanding of the dangers behind high pressure equipment and high flowing systems
  • Able to fully read in detail hydraulic schematics, diagrams of a fluid power system
  • Able to evaluate hydraulic components and to repair the component to the O.E.M specs (open loop-closed loop pumps and actuators)
  • Able to set up and to test a variety of hydraulic units safely
  • Able to read and to decipher electronic diagrams on fluid power systems
  • Able to use a multi-meter to take readings on electrical systems
  • Disassemble, clean, and inspect components for repair. 
  • Determine necessary replacement parts and reconditioning procedures. 
  • Complete reconditioning installing new parts, reassemble, test, paint, stamp, and sticker. 
  • Retest completed assembly. 
  • Use a variety of hand tools (wrench, hammer, handsaw, pneumatic wrench, hand grinder, power drill, and calipers) and shop equipment (lathe, grinder, forklift, hydraulic shop press, welder, acetylene torch, pressure washer, drill press, band saw, parts cleaner). 
  • Applicant should be able to machine, assemble and or duplicate mechanical assemblies such as cylinder head glands and/or hydraulic cylinders’ pistons in steel, aluminum and brass.
  • Greet, assist, work with, and enable industrial customers in the servicing of hydraulic parts or components through familiarity and knowledge of hydraulic component repair.
  • Diagnose, repair, and assemble system components and recommend solutions to the customer.
  • Perform general shop facility maintenance. 
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, bend and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced shop environment
Schedule and Benefits Overview 
  • Typically schedule - Monday – Friday 7:00am to  5:00pm
  • Additional Overtime and Saturday coverage may be needed
  • Hourly wage Rate
  • Full Benefits the first of month after 60 days of service
  • Competitive Hourly wage, overtime rate paid after 40 hours
