General Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving, CNC manufacturing processes utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, CNC equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plans and implements work force utilization, staffing requirements, space requirements, workflow, layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and repairing of CNC equipment and related support equipment.
  • Setup and manage the preventative maintenance system for CNC equipment and support equipment.
  • Will instruct other workers for training purposes.
  • Promote the health and safety of all employees.
  • Communicate timely with all departments and employees as required.
  • Promote proper work ethic, enforce handbook policies, company procedures and practices, and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Has the authority to stop shipment and / or to stop production to correct quality problems and prevent quality issues from reaching our customers.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • May be assigned other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
  • Proficient knowledge of PC systems and software.
  • Extensive knowledge of machining processes, manufacturing methods, company and competitor products, and supplier capability.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC and related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC ladder logic and CNC programming using G-Code is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in and encourage a team environment and facilitate change when necessary.
  • Ability to coordinate, organize and direct multiple positions within the department simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and subcontractors to resolve issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 or 4 year degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3 years or more of professional engineering experience preferred.
  • Previous maintenance experience a plus.
