This ENTRY LEVEL position will work with our Engineering team and create new drawings, update existing drawings, review detail, check and assist in release of development and production drawings. Validate part creation from concept to production print. Validate and document assemblies and piece parts per company and industry standards for drafting, material specifications, manufacturing processes, etc.

Direct hire, full-time opening with benefits package including overtime (when required), health insurance, paid vacation, profit sharing, 401K.

With three fully equipped manufacturing facilities located across North America, quality insulation blankets are manufactured for a wide array of industrial manufacturing equipment and utilities.  Advance Thermal Corp. is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer in our Wood Dale, Illinois headquarters. 

  • Evaluates mechanical systems and products by design and research.
  • Confirms system and product capabilities by design feasibility and testing.
  • Develops mechanical products by studying customer requirements and soliciting observations from field service.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods
  • Provides engineering information support by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with regulations.

  • College coursework in design software;  AutoCAD, SolidWorks,and  Microsoft Office including Excel or equivalent work experience using the software.
  • Able to follow job specifications & standards/able to recognize a flawed design. Ability to read machine drawings and customer part drawings
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and results to deliver quality products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to discuss technical projects with internal employees and clients.
  • Able to follow directions, and work with limited supervision.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
