This opportunity is for a Project Engineer on site at our client. As an employee of Productive Resources, you will perform engine performance and emissions (P&E) calibration engineer with a strong background in OBD responsible for using expertise with internal combustion engines to deliver customer projects within EPA and CARB regulatory guidelines.  Responsibilities include setting of performance objectives, creation of test plans, use of Design of Experiments and calibration methodology, analysis of engine performance and emissions data, and use of failure analysis techniques.

  • Coordinate the technical aspects of assigned projects.
  • Monitor progress to assure quality and adherence to requirements of contract documents and government regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with clients in conjunction with current leadership to propose, manage and deliver programs according to client and Company’s scope, budgets, and schedules.
  • Write or contribute to proposals for P&E projects.
  • Review product designs for regulatory compliance and safety, adherence to company standards, and client contract requirements.
  • Demonstrate initiative, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Improve and promote quality, provide feedback to improve both product and project performance.
  • Interface with customers to design, modify, and implement test plans.
  • Analyze and interpret engine P&E data to make informed decisions on product and project direction.
  • Use failure analysis techniques to identify failure modes and corrective actions.
  • Monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Look for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Work within approved budget.
  • Contribute to profits and revenue.
  • Conserve organizational resources.
  • Meet productivity standards.
  • Conduct research studies to develop new concepts or systems in dynamic systems field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 2-years of experience including responsibility for engineering solutions from design to implementation in similar industries.
  • Background in Internal Combustion Engine development and calibration including emissions and OBD monitor development, tuning, and certification demonstration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and listening skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic and matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Excellent presentation skills and communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
