We are conducting a search for a Start-up and Commissioning Manager for a petrochemical complex.  This individual will be responsible for managing planning and executing commissioning & start-up and operator training. This is a contract assignment to last for approximately 12 to 24 month.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Commissioning & start-up project management at the site.
  • Leads and prepares specific project tart-up procedures.
  • Act as the lead interface between commissioning and operations, minimizing conflict and maximizing cooperation during the completion and commissioning phases.
  • On start-up, monitor and report on system performance against design specifications, be accountable for directing performance testing, certify that the new facilities meet the standards
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, Maintenance, and Procurement to ensure that all support services, supply contracts and service contracts are in place prior to full field start-up.
  • Ability to determine any adverse impact on the project and propose early solution in order to avoid any adverse impact.
  • Provide project requirements to project team members, colleagues, customer representatives and management in order to facilitate quality and timely project completion.
  • Lead and promote effective project communication.
  • Knowledge of process equipment such as distillation units, pumps, compressors, instrumentation and controls
  • Extensive experience and track record of petrochemical, refinery or chemical plant commissioning, start-up, and operations & maintenance
  • Demonstrated capabilities and results in formal project management planning & control skills.
  • Naturally takes ownership and initiative to solve problems and close projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supervisory/management of project teams and contract labor.
  • B.S. Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or other appropriate engineering discipline
