Your unique role with the company: Reports directly the Engineering Manager  
Responsible for designing machines that wind and unwind material for the Plastics and Wire & Cable industries. You will be creating industrial machines for an OEM supplier while utilizing machine design, project management, and solid works 3D CAD modeling skills. Projects will range from modifications of existing designs to custom solutions for customer needs. You will produce a mechanical model, drawing, and bill of material package for production to build.
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
You will directly be involved in
  • Heavy steel welding frame design
  • Material selection (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics),
  • Design of bolted joints
  • Electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic drive system design
  • LEAN design / Design for Manufacturability. Balance the quality and longevity of a design choice against the cost and time to make and/or purchase.
  • Manufacturing Engineering. Develop manufacturing methods. Guide fabrication, machining, assembly, and operation of product designs.
  • Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and provide engineered solutions to solve.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Direct drafters in developing the structural design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design (CAD) or drafting equipment and software.
Qualifications: MS or BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have 7+ years of experience with designing and drafting of machinery
  • Proficient with Solid works 3D CAD software. PLC and HMI programming a plus
  • ANSYS finite element analysis FEA a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
