Performs test setup in support of production test capability, including procurement of test equipment, creating test procedures, performing validation of test set up, and training operators on the operation of equipment or systems to specified requirements.  Performs qualifications, including hands on testing, scheduling outside lab support, builds required fixturing to support qualifications, builds qualification test requirements matrix, and compiles finished qualification reports. Ensure product design, manufacturing process, inspection and test methods, packaging and shipping methods comply with the applicable customer specification and all documents specified within the customer specification. This includes doing initial contract review. Position also will be involved with the RMA and corrective action (for both internal and external request) processes.
  • Recognizes failures and determines need for appropriate verification.
  • Conceptualizes and designs test adapters.
  • Operates programmable quality control equipment.
  • Ensures proper test-related documentation is completed, verified and approved.
  • May prepare written reports and make recommendations for procedural changes.
  • Writes qualification plans and qualification final reports
  • Perform other quality department duties and functions as required.
  • Aid in Lean activity when required.
  • Assist with corrective preventative actions and failure mode analysis.
  • Review customer specification and contract to determine quality requirements. Compare these requirements to Company specifications and communicate electronically differences to Inside Sales.
  • Verify Company design complies with customer specification by utilizing first article inspection per AS9102.
  • Monitor manufacturing process for compliance with customer specification and contract requirements.
  • Monitor documentation process for compliance with customer specification and contract requirements.
  • Ensure material review board (MRB) actions are in compliance with customer specification and contract requirements.
  • Develop data collection systems (as required)
  • Evaluate data collected as part of statistical process control (SPC)
  • Act as a Liaison between customer quality personnel and various Company departments for RMA products.
  • Develop and implement procedures and instructions as part of Company quality manual to ensure compliance to AS9100/ISO9001.
  • Aid with measurement techniques and visual criteria.
  • Back – up designated quality representative for applicable requirements.
  • Perform supplier audits, if need be.
  • Assist suppliers with corrective actions.
  • Aid in the implementation of quality audit system.
  • Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to type/write and arms to reach. The employee will normally lift 5-10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

  • Bachelor Degree or Associate Degree in Electronics/Engineering would be a plus or
  • 2-4 years of test experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Electronics Certificates a plus
  • College related courses a plus
  • Continued education degree(s) or other achievements
                Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks daily to meet deadlines
  • Ability to train and ensure quality processes will meet the customer’s requirements
  • Knowledge and ability to comprehend engineering drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of equipment utilized for testing.
  • Ability to perform verifications on test equipment and routine maintenance
  • Knowledgeable of all Manufacturing Processes and Procedures
  • Personal Computer Skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Auto-sketch, Internet
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form.
  • Ability to work under pressure in meeting time schedules.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Principles
  • Familiar with Schematic Capture software tools
  • Familiar with Schematic Capture software tools
  • Continuous improvement tools
  • Excellent computer skills using data base and spreadsheet programs.
  • Experience working with requirements of AS9100/ISO9001
