Position – Regional Sales Manager (sole contributor) – Water Valves – Municipal
Location: Southeast – optimal Atlanta / Charlotte  (not Florida)
 
The RSM is responsible to develop and manage the sales of Water Valves into the Southeast Municipal Water market.
 
The key for this individual is that they are able to interface with engineering companies.  For this reason, the individual should be an engineer and have sold (Directly or Indirectly) into the municipal water infrastructure industry.
 
The job requires intensive field presence, high level of technical knowledge and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels within the supply chain process including engineers, distributors, operators, etc.
 
The RSM is expected to provide complete technical support for the various applications in the field. The company’s strategy is to sell on technical attributes not on price, hence the RSM is expected to master all technical aspects of the company’s products.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Identify and map project opportunities in the territory
  • Introduce products and solutions to engineering groups in the territory at early project stage
  • Capable of specifying the company’s valves for municipal projects
  • Maintain and develop existing customers including: Engineering companies (Mainly), End users (municipalities), Contractors, Distributors, Manufacturer’s Reps
  • Identify new customers and introduce company’s products and applications to them
  • Quote and obtain continued feedback on projects
  • Provide technical support in the field and remotely
  • Conduct presentations and training sessions
  • Identify competitors’ pricing, activities, new products and strengths
  • Suggest marketing activities in the territory
  • Identify market needs and suggest solutions and product improvements
  • Submit activity reports to management
     
Qualifications
 
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
  • Proven experience in sales of technical / engineered products
  • Experience in sales to Municipal Waterworks
  • Flexibility for extensive travel and ability to operate autonomously
