Design Engineer Extrusion Tooling Job in Madison Wisconsin (WI)

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to design extruded products and extrusion tooling.
Manage key tooling and design projects, including tooling manufacture or procurement through introduction into manufacturing.
Close involvement with both clients and internal manufacturing teams to ensure that product designs are functional and robust in application, and sufficiently easy to set up and manufacture.
Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects to facilitate the corporate goals of continually output increases and scrap reduction on current and new products.


Desired Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree, but we will consider years of experience designing profile extrusion tooling and products in lieu of degree.
5 years of experience in the design of extruded products and extrusion tooling.
Sufficient experience to understand the tuning, processing, and practical application.
Autocad and Solidworks (preferred) .

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Solidworks experience
Working with a wide variety of polymers.
Hands-on processing tuning and processing ability in polymer extrusion.
Strong knowledge of wire EDM and tooling manufacturing methods
