Looking for a serious “tinkerer” with a love of great product design
Dogmatic designs, develops, and manufacturers innovative tools, gadgets and electronic toys distributed to national retail including Target, with secondary markets in Japan and Canada.
Responsibilities and Role:
* Work closely with engineering, procurement, vendors and manufacturing during all phases of product development to optimize designs for cost, performance, manufacturability, service and reliability.
* Working with in-house industrial design to translate design objectives to design for manufacturing using 3D CAD tools (and product data management system)
* Perform analysis, including metrology and evaluation of parts, statistical and finite element analysis
* Work with vendors to develop suitable dimensioning and tolerance schema and manage outsourced part manufacturing
* Schedule and record design reviews among peers
* Perform necessary regulatory or other documentation and quality assurance reviews
* Communicate with Operations and Marketing groups on status and availability.?
Background Requirements:
Pro-E, Solidworks, CONSUMER PRODUCTS, full lifecycle product development, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, high volume manufacturing, injection molded parts
* 10 years+? experience in related field
* Expertise with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Pro/?E preferred)
* Bachelors degree in Engineering (Masters degree strongly preferred)
