DescriptionMinimum requirements: Masters Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, with 2-4 years of experience in a position involving engineering laboratory work and/or product development. Capable of operating many types of engineering lab test equipment, plus related software and hardware.
Preferred requirements: Minimum plus 1-3 years of experience in a position involving electronic device testing or plastic processing or surface treatment in the automotive lighting industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
Setup and execute tests, with minimum supervision, related to electronic devices, or materials and coatings for automotive lighting. Provide theoretical explanations for physical failure modes. Operate and maintain testing equipment in the Engineering Technology department. Analyze test data and present the information required engineering format. Act as liaison between Engineering Analyst and product design teams. Write and update design standards related to the physical aspects of automotive lamps. Learn physical principles of lamp design and materials used in the design and automotive lighting. Assist design and development engineers in the design andphysical analysis of automotive lighting systems, lighting components, and light sources. Investigate and evaluate new products or techniques for improving performance of automotive lighting. Must be able to complete projects in a timely manner. Write reports that include theory, data, analysis, and conclusions.
