Senior Project Engineer

Due to a high profile project this successful manufacturer, a leader in their industry, will be adding a SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER to focus on management of the program. This position reports to the director of technical sales.

The senior project engineer is responsible for development of engineering solutions for customer related projects and products. They will define work requirements, project goals, time lines and budgets, scope, task, and deadlines for designers, drafters and other engineers assigned to the project team. This is a high profile position with ample opportunity to be recognized. The project is time line critical and requires a good electrical and mechanical background. Candidates will work within teams, but are required to be hands on with project management, customer relations and 3D modeling. Goals will include getting acquainted with the product, scheduling and budgeting, determining strategic goals and execution of the product plan. Excellent external and internal customer communication is critical.
Candidates must be open to travel up to 25%. This is a full-time opening on days. Qualified candidates should be energetic, focused, flexible, approachable, team oriented and able to work with minimal direction. REQUIREMENTS for the Senior Product Engineer:
1. A 4-year degree in a related technical field (engineering preferred)
2. A minimum of 8-12 years RECENT work experience in a similar product or project engineering role in an OEM or tier one environment
3. Project engineering experience, including overseeing time lines and budgets
4. STRONG customer relations skills
5. Project management of complex new product lines
6. 3D modeling experience
7. Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel
8. 25% travel - supplier and customer sites

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
2. SolidWorks
3. Supervision experience
4. MBA
5. Microsoft Project
