Job Description
Engineer with broad technical background, responsible for design and development of medical products and associated production tools, fixtures and machines for multiple, concurrent projects. Understand and maintain division priorities. Mentor and direct the work drafters, designers, and engineers.
Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, implementation, and transfer of processes and equipment for market release and initial production of new products and related testing.

1. Solid modeling software expertise. Solidworks highly preferred
2. Engineering software experience: FEA, CFD, engineering calculation software
3. Strong interpersonal skills
4. Diverse technical background
5. Oral and written presentation skills
6. Demonstrated supervisory skills
7. Understanding and practical application of:
a. GD&T, tolerance analysis, drafting practices
b. Rapid prototyping and rapid tooling
c. Machine shop operations
d. Injection molding, extrusion, and other manufacturing processes
e. Metals, thermoplastic and thermoset resins

Potential Task Assignments within the scope of this position
1. Manage product design from concept through launch for multiple programs
2. Design and prototype medical products
3. Design prototype and production tooling, fixtures and machines
4. Maintain a professional working relationship with internal & external customers and support staff
5. Provide technical support on components, materials, methods, systems and equipment
6. Manage project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking.
7. Determine and communicate project deliverables
8. Analyze and optimize existing processes, ability to create new processes
9. Create and control a budget
10. Analyze design inputs
11. Analyze problems in design, process and test development. Recommend/implement solutions
12. Prepare and presents oral and written project updates and technical discussions
13. Develop and implement procedures/policy
14. Mentor drafters, designers, and engineers

Education and/or Experience:
1. Bachelor degree in science or engineering with 6 (six) years of engineering experience within the medical device or equivalent regulated industry OR
2. Masters degree with 5 (five) years of engineering experience within the medical device or equivalent regulated industry
3. Experience includes 3 (three) years proven project management and/or supervisory skills.
